Lovely stay

We loved staying with Brenda and Simon for new year’s eve. The house is well
kept, close to city centre and located in a beautiful and quiet
Breakfast was very good and specially Brenda’s fruit smoothies
are divine. We hope to visit Amsterdam again and to stay with Brenda and
Simon… Simon is a wonderful musician. All the best and see you soon!

I stayed twice in Brenda’s Studio, once for New Year’s Eve and another time just last week-end to enjoy Amsterdam during summer. I enjoyed both stays because either in winter time or in summer time this Studio is a very charming place, well located and Brenda and her husband are more than welcoming. For sure you will enjoy this stay. You will start your day with a very complete breakfast that you can take on the lovely private terrace during sunny days or in the cute dinning room during the colder days. When you step inside the studio, like a friend of mine said “time stops”. Brenda’s studio is a way to resource yourselves after a long day walking around Amsterdam. I truly recommend this place, either for love birds, a family or a bunch of good friends. Enjoy your stay!

Note: My primary reason for visiting Amsterdam was a medical conference at the RAI and it was a good choice as I could get there in less than 10 minutes rain or shine unlike others I know who had 30 minute tram rides to take.
The location is close to two streets of shopping areas which have good restaurants and very good clothing shops on both with Beethoven Street being on the higher-end; there are restaurants, flower shops, bakeries, antique jewelry and some high-end brand stores as well. There are canals in the neighbourhood too. I love Amsterdam, it is a very entertaining city on so many levels and as an English first language person I learned much about Holland and its history.
So, if you’re looking for a slice of real life in Amsterdam? I’d recommend this team, they really enjoy what they do and that makes all the difference.

I spent just over 2 weeks at Brenda and Stephan’s Bed and Breakfast in the latter part of April. They make a great team that is rounded out with Zeeda the perfect Golden Lab and two cats. The upstairs offers comfort, privacy and quiet, the latter helping to overcome jet lag; it was too cool to make much use of the patio but in the warmer months it would be lovely, they have green parrots flying about in the back gardens!
Breakfast was provided in that food was there and you could have breakfast without being summoned to fit a schedule which suited my needs perfectly ? I also took to packing lunches for the shopping/sight- seeing forays as there was so much to see that I felt time would be lost to locating a spot and be waited on, I saved that for dinners. Oh and another saving grace at least for me and unique in my experience as a Bed and Breakfast traveler was when the planning suited both parties a dinner cooked by Brenda was hearty, a lot of fun and reasonable! English is spoken so well in Amsterdam that dinners at Brenda’s can be very informative.

It is a very very nice apartment, with great owners. The neighbourhood is very quiet, but at the same time close to the center, you can travel by bike or by a tram. The coffe shop and the grocery shop are just round the corner. The apartment is very clean, with a lot of light in the bedrooms, it has got a large balcony with a pleasant view on some trees. It is definetly a very good place to rest in the evening

We went to Amsterdam this October and we stayed at Brenda’s B&B apartment. We have absolutely no reason for complaint. It was fantastic. They received us very well, the apartment was really nice and cosy, very higienic and the breakfast was also really good and we only had to walk about 10min to get the tram directly to the city centre (about another 10min), so it was also very well located. We definetly recommend it!

We stayed here over Easter  and found it to be excellent. We were warmly welcomed by Brenda and Stefan on the Friday evening and shown to our studio. It consisted of the top floor of a 3 story house, consisting of kitchen, bathroom, dinng room and bedroom. We were told that breakfast had been provided for one morning, when in fact there was enough food to last us for three!. All the rooms were very clean and the bedroom had a terrace looking out over gardens.

Brendas studio is situated in the old South of the city, a very quiet and respectable neighbourhood but within 20 minutes walk of Leiseplein and if you’re feeling fit, 40mins from Centraal. If walking isnt your thing then take the 5 or 24 tram.

We both whole heartedly recomend Brendas B&B to any other travellers.

Brenda & Stefan gave us a very warm welcome to their lovely home/apartment and we had a great weekend. Nice quiet location, but just a hop, skip & a jump to the tram or to shops/cafes/restaurants around the corner. The accommodation was spotlessly clean and the breakfast (enough for two days!) was great. Everything we needed was supplied, and there were lots of warm individual personal touches that just made it that little bit extra. Beautiful home, beautiful garden, beautiful cats. We’ll definitely stay here again if we return to Amsterdam – thanks Brenda & Stefan

Thank you for a lovely stay. The apartment more than exceeded expectations and although the website said that on arrival food for one breakfast would be provided, there was enough for two or three. Also the apartment was thoughtfully stocked with essentials like coffee (fresh coffee for coffee maker), tea, honey, biscuits and butter.

The apartment is the upper floor/attic conversion of a beautiful 20’s house in a lovely residential area and it is, as it says on the website, very close to RAi (5-10 minutes walk). I don’t think the website does justice to quite what a lovely location this is, with easy walking access to high quality restaurants and shops in a very relaxing and quieter area of the city. Though the heart of the city is easily reached by tram or on foot (only 30 minutes walk along lovely boulevards) – or cycle.

Our hosts, Brenda and her husband were very welcoming and I’m sure that they would have been very helpful should we have needed anything. Meals can also be provided for an additional fee if arranged in advance, but since our stay was relatively short and busy we were never able to plan ahead.

We stayed at Brenda’s B&B in April and had a terrific time. The apartment was spacious and very homely, with a nice kitchen and lovely balcony. It is located a short tram ride out of the centre of town and our hosts were very welcoming. Highly recommended.

Fabulous place to stay in Amsterdam. The neighborhood is beautiful, easy walk to the tram, wonderful restaurants. Brenda and her husband Stephan were so nice and welcoming. Stephan picked us up at the train station on arrival. The flat is on the 3rd floor of their beautiful home. It has everything you possibly could need and very quaint. My husband and I just loved it. The price was more than reasonable, bed very comfortable, and beautiful terrace. I would highly recommend Brenda?s Bed and Breakfast to a couple, business traveler, or single traveler. Thank you Brenda for everything, hope to return someday and stay with you again!
